Lindsay Goding - Marketing and Promotions Executive, Phillip Island Nature Park
Lindsay graduated in 2003 with a double degree (B Applied Science - Human Movement/B Management) majoring in tourism and marketing in addition to taking Japanese language (such is the flexibility of our degree!). After graduating Lindsay was offered a number of positions but accepted a marketing assistant position at Phillip Island Nature Park. He soon became marketing coordinator and is now their Marketing and Promotions Executive. He has recently won a major tourism industry fellowship by Alliance Victoria, the peak industry representative body for tourism in Victoria.
From the Alliance Vic website:
"Tourism Alliance Victoria is delighted to announce the Lynette Bergin Tourism Fellowship, which is funded through member resources, will offer up to $8,000 to the applicant and a further $1,000 to the applicant's employer. The fellowship will be offered annually.
In naming the fellowship in honour of Lynette Bergin Tourism Alliance Victoria seeks to perpetuate the skills and contribution Lynette made to the industry and celebrate the guiding hand Lynette offered to many of the industry's new recruits.
The Fellowship seeks to promote skills and excellence among young people and new entrants into the tourism industry; and contribute to the continued development and growth of tourism."
Lindsay will spend his winnings on increasing his understanding the Chinese market from within China and enhancing his Chinese language skills.
