School of Business Research

A major challenge for business and management research is to assess the nature of competitiveness and organisation dynamics in the context of changing institutions, governance structures and technology.

Research in business must have the ultimate aim of creating the intellectual capital to improve business and management practice. Research that is stimulated by business realities, intellectual challenges and educational needs is diffused through teaching, publications and consultancy. This is the approach we follow at Ballarat.

School of Business academic staff engage in both discipline-based and cross-disciplinary research and consulting. They are committed to research of regional, national and international significance in all areas of business.

The impact of our work is becoming evident in a number of fields; in law, accounting, marketing, strategy and management.

Our staff have published high-quality papers in prestigious national and international journals.

Research students have a special place at the University of Ballarat. With their new perspectives and energy, they work with us on a range of research projects, or sometimes, in the case of part-time students, along specific studies relating to their own organisation.
